"The Search" which is part of "Rhyselle's Library" on SoA, won Third Place for Poetry: Late Third Age.
My other two stories, "Courage" and "At the Last Minute" (also on SoA) didn't win anything but did garner some very nice reviews.

MEFAs are so fun. Oh, I know it relies heavily on a popularity angle, but still... recognition is nice. I was happy that a lot of stories I voted for placed in their categories. I think GoI represented nicely. My bits (all on Open Scrolls: www.openscrolls.net/fanfic/authors/stories.php?no=6) did well, thanks to some nice readers/reviewers: Dawn Twilight received Second Place in Times: Modern Times: General <== Squee! This story took seven years to write, and finishing it was a major milestone in my own brain. Am stoked that some folks read it, even though the folks who started out reading it back in 2001 have all more or less abandoned fandom (presumably not because of this story). "Care to Ride My Hot-Rod Fell Beast?" received Third Place in Genres: Humor: Other Fixed-Length Ficlets "Some Confusion in Accounts" received an Honorable Mention in Genres: Humor: Other Fixed-Length Ficlets "Gently Held" received First Place in Genres: Romance: Other Fixed-Length Ficlets

I cannot believe DT only got Second Place! What the heck beat it??? Your two humor pieces probably split your votes which kinda sucks when you're competing against yourself.

Hm--what's this? Oh, look what I found in the mailbox this morning!
"Loudwater"--Third Place in Times: Late Third Age: General Fixed-Length Ficlets
"Trading Pledges"--First Place in Races: Dwarves: General
(Whew! Bard had me worried there, with his Dwarvish piece. ;D )

A Dream Come True - Third Place in Genres: Romance: Gondor Tide of Destiny - Part One: Choices - Second Place in Genres: Drama: Incomplete The Return - Third Place in Genres: Drama: General Waterloo - Second Place in Genres: Romance: Gondor I have to admit to being pleased with the drama ones - first time I have written in that genre . All on SoA or HASA. And there is a big difference in my pre and my post GoL stuff - a lot of learning has gone on here.

Sadly, I just caught an error in my reviews. One of the last minute reviews for As Was Dwarven Tradition should have been for Dance of the Deer and Mumak. I've emailed Marta about it, but I believe this will drop me out of third place in the Races: Dwarves General category.

Oh, what the hell -- I'm in the mood for a brag.
King Stag received First Place in Races: Elves: Mirkwood Elves
Nightfall received First Place in Times: Second and Early Third Age: General
The Houseless received Second Place in Genres: Horror: General
Out of the Blue received Second Place in Races: Elves: General
Here's To The King! received Third Place in Genres: Humor: Elven Lands
Wayward Sons received an Honorable Mention in Races: Elves: General
Elflings received an Honorable Mention in Races: Elves: Family
And that was very gratifying, considering the excellent stories I was competing against.
Many congratulations to everyone else, including former GoI member Ignoble Bard, who did pretty well this year too.
