Hello there
I am new to the world of fanfiction and decided to join you on the advice of Gwynnyd who's been kind enough to offer betaing my first (and maybe last), fumbling attempt at a fanfic. Bits and pieces of this story sort of just pops up in my head from time to time - I certainly never intended to write anything besides Christmas cards and work related stuff! I honestly feel that I'm way out of my league in joining this forum...
About Tolkien: I first read LoTR some 20 years ago and loved the story from the first moment. Have re-read it perhaps 10 times. SIL was a bit dry, but I liked UT and really enjoyed CoH, although (or because?) it's so sad.
Back when I was young, not many shared my Tolkien interest, so I was quite happy when the LoTR hype started a few years ago. Took me quite a while to discover all the stuff on the internet, but now I spend a lot of time on various LoTR related sites.
A bit about me:
- I am not a native English speaker which is why I need all the help I can get with my writing.
- I live with my family in a small house in a huge garden. We've got a few animals - cat, dog, sheep - and our own small forest; actually my home covered all of my hobbies, except reading, until recently.
My first and only story? It's a WIP about an elf (3rd age) of which the Professor did not tell us nearly enough (IMHO), following him from his birth until he makes his appearance in the Books.
So, I look forward to meeting all of you wonderful writers in the Garden of Ithilien!
